Althof, Elizabeth Fromknecht
The welfare of her home was the chief interest of Mrs. Elizabeth Althof, eighty-six, of Richmond st., who died Thursday in her home after having been in poor health for the past two years.
Mrs. Althof was born March 2, 1870, in Erie, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Fromknecht, and lived here her entire life. Her husband, Frank Althof, who was employed in a planning mill died in 1938.
She is survived by a son, Carl E. Althof and a daughter, Mrs. May Behringer, both of Erie; six grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Murphy and Mrs. Julia Heibel; and two brothers. Bernard Fromknecht, of Erie and Louis Fromknecht, of Braddock, Pa.
Services in charge of A. Brugger and Sons funeral home, 449 E. 9th st., will be held there at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Rites will follow at 9 a.m. in St. George’s church. Friends are invited to call and attend the services. Place of interment is being arranged.
